En tous cas la construction est déjà très rapide alors maintenant qu'il s'attaque la 2ème partie ,ça va être dubaïesque 

Suis-je le seul a qui le bas de cette tour fait penser a T1 ?




(faudrait prendre T1 du meme angle pour que la ressemblance soit frappante je pense  )

Je pense que c'est la la plus belle ville des USA (avis personnel ).
Elle est bien américaine et en même temps je trouve qu'elle a un côté européen (à part les grattes-ciels )

(j'aurais preféré un clad comme celui la pour T1 lol)

et enfin une petite dernière pour voir l'évolution au coeur de la Skyline !!

CHICAGO-Developer Garrett Kelleher, executive chairman of Shelbourne Development Ltd. and the Shelbourne Group, plans to announce today the new team to design and build the 124-story residential tower here formerly known as the Fordham Spire, and also share news about some design changes to the building. Kelleher’s companies are based in Dublin, Ireland. A spokeswoman told GlobeSt.com that the company will name the team in an announcement at 9 a.m. on Nov. 15.

Tom Murphy of Thomas J. Murphy PC, general counselor for Kelleher, told GlobeSt.com that the company is looking at changes with the lead architect. The corkscrew-like tower was designed by architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava. The tower is expected to measure 2,000 feet tall, including spires and antenna.

“There are going to be some inevitable changes to the team and the design,” Murphy says. “It will be the same silhouette, but there will be enhancements with mechanical issues, parking, things like that.” He says the environmental investigation on the building is ongoing, design drawings will be drawn up shortly and the company is looking to break ground in second quarter 2007.

Local developer Christopher T. Carley, who introduced the building concept, was taken out of the deal when Kelleher bought the property for $65 million in July. Carley will not be involved in the new project, Murphy says. The site, located at the intersection of Lake Shore Drive and the Chicago River, has already been granted zoning approval by the city for a 124-story residential and hotel tower, thanks to Carley’s original efforts.

The 920,000-sf structure will surpass the Sears Tower and Toronto's CN Tower, making it the tallest freestanding building in North America and Europe. The development will include 300 luxury condominium residences, ranging from $600,000 to $5 million, and a five-star, 20-story hotel. Additionally, 50,000 sf of retail and support space is planned for the floors overlooking the river and Lake Michigan. Completion is slated for late 2010.

En tout cas je trouve que chicago est vraiment bien plus belle que NYC car il y a de la cohérence dans l'architechture de type gothique / contemporain !

j'aime vraiment bien le cladding de la tour

Moi j'aime également ce cladding. Je pense que cette tour va devenir mythique dans la skyline de Chicago.

Final twist in Calatrava design

The City of Chicago has begun its final review of Santiago Calatrava's Chicago Spire design.

Calatrava's twisting 2,000-foot-tall building was officially filed for final design. The initial design for the project was unveiled in May 2005. Refinements, to the new design include eliminating a broadcast antenna, eliminating the proposal for hotel and retail space and giving a more organic feel which is more in keeping with the tradition of Chicago's skyscrapers. Calatrava has proposed building two bridges on the site. One across the Chicago River-designed so it can pivot to accommodate water traffic-will connect the Chicago Spire's plaza with the lakefront bicycle trail to the south. A second, on the north side will connect the site to DuSable Park. The design also includes enhancements for DuSable Park, including a pavilion and boat landing, to bring light, colour and activity to a now-forbidding section of road below Lake Shore Drive.

Je dis ça mais je la trouve sympa quand-même

Moi cette tour je la préfers avec la spire elle avait plus de finesse je trouve...

Je préférais aussi l'ancienne version.

l'Ancienne versioen était vraimment mieux.... c'est vraimment tres dommage.

Moi j'aime bien les 2, mais dans cette version (définitive) elle ne sera pas la plus grande tour de la ville...

Alors donc c'est moins beau. Le mouvement de la spire n'est pas si fameux.
Elle garde de l'originalité mais perd de sa force.
Enfin je l'aurais bien voulu à la Defense quand même, à la place de la Cendrillon's Tower, par exemple.

??? elle sera de très loin la plus haute tour de la ville il me semble, elle a gagné environ 25 étages dans le redesign et sera aussi haute au toit quelle l'était avant au sommet de l'antenne. Pour te donner une idée, c'est presque comme si on ajoutait la tour Gan au sommet de la tour sears 

A noter que sur les forums internationaux, la plupart des américains semblent préférer la nouvelle version à l'ancienne.

Elle est pas moche, loin de là, mais par rapport au premier modèle elle perd en élancement je trouve. Malgré le fait qu'elle soit plus haute apparemment.
Ce qu'il lui faudrait c'est une base légèrement plus large, et un sommet plus réduit. Avec l'antenne en haut c'est parfait (quitte à y caser quelques éoliennes ;-) )!
