Une nouvelle ville autour d'une lagune au nord d'Aqaba

La Jordanie poursuit la politique de modernisation économique entamée par le Roi Hussein dès la fin des années 1980 et amplifiée par le Roi Abdallah II. Amélioration de la gestion du secteur public, gestion des privatisations, création de la zone économique spéciale d’Aqaba et de zones industielles spéciales.

Plusieurs aspects négatifs assombrissent cependant le tableau: endettement extérieur et un déficit budgétaire important, la sensibilité du secteur touristique aux crises régionales ainsi que la pauvreté d’une partie non négligeable de la population.

Le roi a fait du développement d'Aqaba une priorité. Abdullah II a établi l'Autorité de développement de la Zone Économique Spéciale d'Aqaba, une entité mélant secteur public et secteur privé chargés de développer le secteur industriel d'Aqaba, le transport et plus important l'activité touristique. L'agence mise sur les récifs de corail, la mer, le désert et la proximité de Petra.

A ce que je comprends bien c'est une ville complète? maisons pavillonnaires, grattes-ciels, jardins, etc...
Pour le moment à quoi ressemble la ville, t'as une idée? pour voir un peu ne serait-ce que l'évolution.
Parcequ'à ma connaissance, elle est presque "désertique" la ville pas les alentours...

Faut demander au roi s'il veut bien te recevoir  ( je pense qu'il est mieux placé pour te donner des infos  )

Du nucléaire français pour la Jordanie

Après la Lybie, l'Egypte... Le président Nicolas Sarkozy poursuit sa tournée pour refourguer du nucléaire civil.
Lors de son récent séjour à Aqaba, le président français s'est entretenu avec le roi Abdallah II, la France devrait fournir à la Jordanie une centrale électrique fonctionnant à l'énergie nucléaire. Plusieurs autres pays arabes, comme l’Arabie Saoudite, le Maroc et l’Algérie, ont fait part auprès de la France de leur intérêt pour l’énergie nucléaire.

C'est un lieu de villégiature pour les touristes: l'hotel Moevenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea situé sur la rive nord de la Mer Morte, à 70km de l’aéroport international QueenAlia et 55 km d’Amman. L'ensemble est construit comme un village traditionnel.

Jordan Gate est situé à l'ouest d'Amman, ce complexe abritera des bureaux, des salles de conférence, un hôtel cinq étoiles Hilton et des espaces de ventes. Il est aujourd’hui le bâtiment le plus haut de Jordanie, devant le Royal Hotel (31 étages). A la fin de sa construction il devrait compter 44 étages.

La construction de tours a été limitée à 4 secteurs dans la capitale, les investisseurs peuvent choisir entre Abdali, Abdoun, Jubeiha ou la route de l'aéroport.

En septembre 2006, les travaux de construction avaient été stoppés, lorsque une partie de la tour nord s’est effondrée, tuant quatre personnes et en blessant 15 autres.  Un mois plus tôt, un incendie avait éclaté au 8ème étage de la tour nord, ne provoquant ni morts ni blessés cette fois.

J'ai pas écris que c'était le bâtiment le plus haut de Jordanie jusqu'a ce que le projet Jordan Gate le supplante, même s'il n'est pas terminé? Le Royal Hotel est ouvert depuis 2002. Pour l'autre, ils ont reconstruit les étages qui se sont effondrés et le chantier continue.

A major United Arab Emirates real estate firm on Wednesday launched its operations in Amman, announcing the construction of twin towers in Abdoun.

The $300 million project, to be completed in three years, includes two high-rises housing 600 apartments, Limitless CEO Saeed Ahmad Saeed said at a press conference yesterday to announce the launch of the company’s investment activities in the Kingdom. This is the second twin tower project in Amman, after Jordan Gate, which is under construction near the 6th Circle. The 200-metre-high 60-storey towers will include a 1,000-square-metre indoor area designated for retail and entertainment outlets, Saeed told reporters yesterday. The towers will be surrounded by 5,600 square metres of land as external space, which characterises all of the company’s projects, he noted. Amman Mayor Omar Maani said this comprehensive project proves that the Amman Master Plan is a success. Initiated in June 2006 as a response to the tremendous growth the capital has witnessed over the past several years, the Amman Master Plan seeks to provide a clear direction for sustainable development of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) over the next 20 years in accordance with new planning legislation.

Last year, GAM announced four phases of the Master Plan: The tower, corridor intensification, industrial land policy and the interim rural residential policy. The Limitless twin towers will be located in Abdoun, one of the four areas designated for high-rises in the capital, according to the GAM press centre. “The project location was selected after accurately studying the required infrastructure, roads and green areas,” Maani said, during yesterday’s press conference. The towers will be the highest structures in Jordan, and among the tallest in the Middle East, GAM Press Centre Director Taha Abu Redin told The Jordan Times. Also yesterday, the GAM council approved an agreement between the municipality and Limitless, under which the company will buy a plot of land in Abdoun estimated at JD6.715 million, according to a GAM statement released yesterday.

Limitless, the “global master development arm” of Dubai World, was established in July 2005, with the key objective of diversifying and globalising Dubai’s portfolio of development companies by leveraging the know-how and exposure gained by Dubai World’s real estate initiatives through the “Nakheel” project. Capital Tower | Amman

The Project is located on a prime piece of land in the new Abdali District designated as Plot 1A with a plot area of 6,432 m2, comprising the full project site. The location forms part of the redevelopment and rejuvenation project of Al Abdali in central Amman, Jordan. The development is a core and shell structure constituting of three buildings, and underground parking basements with a gross built up area of 142,230 m2, detailed as follows;

• Tower 1A: a 220 m high tower of 51 floors above the ground, with a total built up area of 73,285 m2
• Building 1A1: a low rise 7 storey building with a total built up area of 5,760 m2
• Building 1A2: a low rise 8 storey building with a total built up area of 7,995 m2
