Jewish American billionaire Nicholas Berggruen of Berggruen Holdings has his eye on the former Ha'argaz factory compound in Tel Aviv.
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported on Sunday that the businessman, who already holds a number of assets in Israel, plans to purchase the massive lot in central Tel Aviv for the construction of office and high-tech buildings.
According to the report however, sources close to the negotiations said talks were put on hold due to disputes over the price. Ha'argaz is demanding $50 million for the lot, and has received another offer from Delek Group owner Yitzhak Tshuva
Nicholas Berggruen, 45, was born to a Jewish family in New York that owns billions of dollars worth of artwork, including Picasso and Matisse pieces, some of which will be used to fund his real estate projects in Israel.

Tel Aviv 2000
Mansfeld-Kehat Architects had won the international planning competition "Tel Aviv 2000" arranged by the Tel Aviv municipality and the Israel Lands Authority, for the area surrounding the Arlozerov Railway Station at the center of the metropolis.
The program includes a transportation terminal, a new railway station, a light trail station, 1000 apartments' offices and businesses, a new cultural center and public spaces. The plan comprises a total area of 416 dunams (100 acres) and a total built area of 1.25 nillion sqm (13,500,000 sqf)
Our firm proposed the TLV-LOOP, a pentagonal avenue ring, embracing buildings and connecting the neighboring cities. The urban presence of the Loop makes it a stepping-stone for the transportation of the area into a pedestrian-oriented place.
