Premier ensemble de type HBM édifié à Toulouse, ces 5 immeubles furent conçu par Jean Montariol entre 1926 et 1929. Cet architecte contribuera fortement à la production de logements sociaux dans l'entre-deux-guerres à Toulouse en réalisant un grand nombre de logements collectifs et de cités-jardins pour les ouvriers (Trois-Cocus, Fontaine-Lestang, etc.).
