D'ailleurs à l'extrême gauche sur Governors Island, on voit une structure métallique avec de l'eau qui en tombe. Ne serait-ce pas la structure actuellement installée sous le pont de Brooklyn qui était alors en préparation !?

C'est l'une des 4 "Waterfalls" actuellement à NYC, installation provisoire d'art contemporain.
Il y en a 3 autres dont effectivement une sous le pont de brooklyn.
Chaque Waterfall fait une trentaine de mètres de haut.

D'ailleurs ces fameuses waterfalls vont etre demontees plus vite que prevu (sans doute cette semaine). En effet, les nuages d'eau salee que cela genere ont abime les jardins des habitants de Brooklyn et les parcs avoisinants...

Les chutes d'eau ont ete stoppes comme prevu le 13 octobre. A partir de septembre elles etaient stoppees plus longtemps. Des associations de riverain se sont plaint a cause de l'eau salee mais c'etait juste histoire de raler.

After 11th hour deals, proposals for Hunter's Point South and Willets Point pass City Council



"Hunter's Point South, a 30-acre project on the spit of land adjacent to Queens West, was envisioned by the city's Economic Development Corporation as a middle-class haven. Of its 5,000 units, a whopping 60 percent would be set aside for families making between $60,000 and $125,000. "In this city, we make housing for the fantastically wealthy and the desperately poor, but the vast middle gets left behind," Gioia said.

But housing advocates complained because the project included no low-income housing in a neighborhood and borough that is sorely lacking it. Today, Gioia announced he had gotten an agreement from the Bloomberg administration not only to include 200 low-income senior units in the project, but the city also undertook a landmark study of the surrounding area to identify other underutilized parcels in the immediate area of Long Island City as well as throughout the borough. City officials said they project at least 500 units could be built in the former and another 1,500 in the latter.

A first look at Libeskind’s Madison Square Park tower
New York’s Madison Square Park is the latest place to go ogling some of the city’s newest skyscrapers. Cetra Rudy and OMA have each designed new towers on the park. Now the area is to get a forward-looking gleaming glass and green residential tower designed by Studio Libeskind, with spiraling gardens in the sky. On revisite un concept vieux de millier d'annees et on en fait un des projet les plus sexy de NY.
Bravo, cette ville sait se reinventer sans arret. La skyline de Midtown semble s'etendre de plus en plus vers le sud avec un nouveau cluster impressionant autour du madison Park.

Il me semble que c'est un ancien rendu : les rendus des nouveaux immeubles autour de la Freedom Tower ont évolués depuis.
N'hésites pas à jeter un coup d'oeil au thread sur le nouveau WTC.

Ce building près de Madison Square a vraiment l'air de sortir de nulle part : il doit faire plus de 200 m alors qu'il n'y a rien d'aussi haut autour de lui. C'est bizarre qu'il puisse percer le plafond qui existait jusque là de facto, sans aucune autre tour en construction alentour qui approche ce gabarit.

Je pensais que la règlementation empêchait les excès du genre de la Trump World Tower, il me semble, qui avait racheté les droits de construction des terrains environnants pour dépasser le plafond de hauteur prescrit. Ici, le résultat est un peu semblable dans la différence de hauteur : je trouve l'effet exagéré et un peu dommage.

Merci Sinha, tes photos sont superbes et on voit bien que tu as l'habitude des photos archi/suivis de chantier, c'est un régal de voir les manières de construire aux US .. et les photos sont du reste, très bien .. un reportage bien chouette sur plusieurs threads US qui en dit long sur ce voyage qui a du être superbe ..

Merci tonio.  Je vais commencer à mettre mes photos dans un sujet à part .Il me faudra un peu de temps pour le compléter d'ailleurs...tant que cela puisse intéresser c'est bien le principal.

Foster & Partners has submitted its proposals for the new premises of the Sperone Westwater Gallery, to be located on the Bowery in south Manhattan, for planning approval.

The design features a mobile 3.6m x 6m exhibition space that operates like a lift between the five exhibition floors and appears as a red block through the building’s double glass façade. (...)
